Our approach
Shannonside’s aim is to achieve first class performance in quality, health, safety and the environment by reducing and managing risks, eliminating potential injuries, preventing work related ill-health and minimising the effect of our activities on the environment.
For us quality forms an integral part of everything that we do, and we take the time to make sure that everyone who joins us understands its importance. It is present in every discussion and decision that takes place, from sites to planning, from pricing to project delivery.
As a company our main objective is to ensure a safe working environment for all staff, we are deemed responsible for. We are committed to, and encourage an open and honest safety culture.
We have a proactive approach to health and safety and the environment. Our main focus is to be in tune with our workforce, their needs, and the potential hazards they may face on a day to day basis, always dealing with them head on.
Our safety standards are championed by the directors of the company, and this is communicated consistently to all our staff.
We invest in our workforce to ensure that they have the required training to allow them to carry out their tasks safely, without harm to themselves or others around them.
Our commitment
A health and safety committee led by our directors ensures that best practice and lessons learnt are consistently applied across our business. Our procedures are continually reviewed and improved to meet current legislation. We ensure that our safety procedures and systems are externally audited for compliance and hold up to date accreditation from CHAS, SMAS and Constructionline.
All Shannonside staff from our directors to operative level staff understand the importance of safety and we have 100% CSCS & CPCS/NPORS compliance. In addition site supervisors hold both SSSTS & NVQ qualifications.
We monitor our activities to guarantee our compliance with environmental legislation and actively encourage our suppliers to adopt our approach.
